Stone cups found during excavations at the ‘Burnt House’

These stone measuring cups, unlike the ceramic vessels found beneath the ash and rubble layer of the ‘Burnt House’ are evidence that the occupants were strict adherents of the Jewish religious purity laws. This is consistent with the house being the home of a High Priest in the Temple.
